CMD therapyHaidhausen
“Gritting your teeth” is an expression of chronic social strain (stress). Over 40% of people suffer from physical and psychological complaints as a result of this kind of constant stress.
Chronic stress leads to extreme muscular tension
Our aim is to recognise the causes of CMD through interdisciplinary functional analysis and treat them with functional therapy. In addition to the well-known complaints in the jaw and joint area (CMD), the systemic consequences also include head, neck and shoulder pain, tinnitus, dizziness and concentration disorders. These possible symptoms as a result of chronic stress arise particularly during sleep due to extreme muscular tension in the head and neck muscles.
Regeneration through holistic CMD therapy in our dental practice in Haidhausen
In contrast to the usual dental symptom therapy using bite splints, we pursue a holistic therapy concept that takes into account all stressful influences and psychological and physical reactions. The core elements of our therapy (a modified concept of mind-body therapy, developed by Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA) are a clinical and digital-instrumental functional analysis of the head, jaw and neck muscles, a detailed determination of the individual stress situation and a special splint therapy that prevents night-time grinding/clenching of the teeth and supports regeneration during sleep. Individual relaxation and regeneration techniques are taught as part of several check-up treatments.
Fascia research findings are incorporated into the treatment concept
An essential part of the treatment is rhythmic stimulation of the cell tissue of the stressed fascia (matrix). This treatment technique was originally developed in aerospace medicine and adapted to our treatment concept based on the findings of fascia research. We receive interdisciplinary support for our therapy from specially trained therapists in osteopathy, physiotherapy and speech therapy.
